Baga Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located in the Baga area, Shengmi Village, Pazhuo District, Dingri County, Tibet. It was named by Rao Rongbiao and Zhang Zhenggui in 1985.
Lithology and Thickness
Shale and Limestone. Grey-black shale with calcareous concretions and dolomitic limestone. Thickness is 8 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Disconformable contact with the underlying Quburiga Fm.
Upper contact
Disconformable contact with the overlying Tulong Fm of the Early Triassic Epoch
Regional extent
The formation is distributed in the areas of the Dingri and Nyalam Counties, Tibet.

Fossils
The shale yields brachiopods represented by Spinomarginifera, Transennatia and Fususpirifer. The limestone has abundant conodonts represented by Clarkina deflecta, C. subcarinata, C. subcarinata changxingensis, N. carinata, Xaniognathus elongates and Enantiognathus ziegleri.
